Jiaxing University, founded in 1914, is located in Jiaxing, a city situated on the southeast coast at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta. Its strategic location offers proximity to Shanghai in the east, Suzhou in the north, Hangzhou in the west, and Hangzhou Bay in the south. Jiaxing is notable as the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, a hub of Jiangnan culture, the permanent venue for the World Internet Conference, and a key area in Zhejiang Province’s Shanghai demonstration zone.

The university spans three campuses: Yuexiu, Lianglin, and Heping Lake, covering an area of 1,853.99 mu, with a building area of 869,700 square meters. Its facilities include teaching and research equipment valued at 312 million yuan, a library housing 2.319 million printed materials, and 1.872 million electronic resources.

Jiaxing University comprises 17 academic units with over 16,500 full-time students and more than 8,000 adult education students. It also has an independent institution, Nanhu College, which enrolls nearly 8,000 full-time students. The university offers 55 undergraduate majors, including 2 national-level specialties and 16 provincial-level key programs. It has 10 national and provincial-level experimental teaching platforms and collaborates with 62 universities from 18 countries, including the United States, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Korea, to provide joint research opportunities, dual-degree programs, and exchange training. Graduate students are jointly trained with Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and 17 other institutions. For years, the graduate employment rate has consistently exceeded 96%.

The university boasts a faculty of over 1,600 members, including more than 1,060 full-time teachers, of whom 490 hold senior titles and 530 possess doctoral degrees. The staff includes four academicians and several national and provincial-level talents, such as recipients of the “National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project,” provincial “Qianjiang senior talent” professors, and members of provincial innovation teams.
