The city of Jilin is located in Northeast China. It is one of the most ancient cities. Initially, it was a small village in the terrain of the Ula. In 1651 the Manchus, alarmed about Russian invasions into the Amur River region, they set up a dockyard there in order to create boats for resistance and transportation on the Sungari River. The Jilin City has a population of nearly 1.5 million. It is noteworthy for tourists, because it is about an hour’s drive from the Changbai Mountains and Beidahu Ski Resort. It is also famous for the frosty view of its Rime Festival.
