Anhui Medical University

Anhui Medical University, the oldest medical institution in Anhui province, was established in 1926 and has a rich historical legacy. Currently, the university enrolls 18,000 undergraduate students. It operates across four main campuses: the Meishan Road campus, the Feicui Road campus, the East campus (which is still under construction), and the Chaohu School of Clinical Medicine campus, covering a total area of 1.21 square kilometers. The university includes 16 directly-affiliated teaching institutions and 6 affiliated hospitals: the First Affiliated Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Affiliated Chaohu Hospital, Affiliated Fuyang Hospital, and the Stemmatological Hospital of Anhui Province.

Anhui Medical University boasts 25 teaching institutions, including the School of International Education. It offers a wide range of undergraduate programs across 32 specialized fields. At the graduate level, the university provides eight doctoral programs, five first-rate discipline master’s programs, 64 master’s programs, and five professional degree programs. Notably, it is authorized to confer MD degrees in clinical medicine and professional degrees in stomatology at the master’s level. These degrees, particularly the MD, represent a significant advancement in professional education in Anhui Province, allowing the university to offer comprehensive education across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. In recent years, Anhui Medical University has led other provincial universities in total grants from the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
